Hey there!

So, a few weeks ago, I decided to have a fun little poll on instagram to determine which bird I should work on next. The options were a budgie, a magpie, and a king parrot. It was close, but guess what? The king parrot was the winner! So, I have been working on him ever since. And here he is. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it!
Make sure to give me a follow on instagram so you can participate in upcoming polls and help me decide which birds I will illustrate next.

King Parrot in a Gum Tree Fine Art Print

The king parrot is a charismatic and colourful bird native to the rainforests and woodlands of eastern Australia. With its vibrant plumage and majestic appearance, the king parrot is a true gem of the avian world. Males showcase a striking combination of deep scarlet red plumage on their heads, chests, and underparts, contrasting beautifully with their emerald green wings and back. Females, on the other hand, exhibit a more subdued coloration with predominantly green feathers.

Known for their social behaviour, king parrots are often seen in pairs or small flocks, foraging for fruits, seeds, nectar, and insects. Their melodious calls fill the air, adding a touch of enchantment to their presence. With their regal charm and captivating personalities, the king parrots continue to captivate bird enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Black Cockatoo Print

The black cockatoo is a majestic and fascinating bird that is native to the forests of Australia. With its striking black feathers and vibrant red tail, the black cockatoo is a sight to behold. These intelligent birds are known for their distinctive call, which can be heard echoing through the trees.

They have a strong beak that is perfectly adapted for cracking open nuts and seeds, which form a large part of their diet. The black cockatoo is also known for its impressive aerial displays, as it soars through the sky with grace and agility.

Unfortunately, the black cockatoo is facing threats to its survival, including habitat loss and illegal pet trade. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this iconic bird and ensure its continued existence in the wild.
